Breakfast - the other B

At the heart of every inn is the incredible hospitality served up in a big way. Included in your stay is a wonderful gourmet breakfast delivered to your cozy cottage door between 8:45- 9:00 am. If you are wanting delivery earlier, just let me know at the time of your reservation. Fresh loaves of sourdough as well as a variety of baked goods are sprinkled throughout the week. Each morning is it’s own unique treat– from sweet to savory–you won’t be disappointed.  Staying more than one night? Don’t worry, each day will be something spectacularly different. I take pride in the meals I plan, and then serve to my guests. I like the idea of deconstruction of all sorts of “classics.” Given my northern upbringing, I often create a southern dish with northern flare. I like to have fruit— bowl, charcuterie or on the side. A homemade baked item is sometimes the appetizer, followed by the main course. This could be Eggs Benedict, or Dutch Baby pancakes, French Crepes with a variety of toppings available. Bacon and eggs are never basic, complete with fresh sourdough bread or piping hot biscuits fresh from the oven. The “Virginian” breakfast sandwich has become a favorite. Toasted sourdough, fresh mozza or feta, pesto, and bacon, or ham, or sausage, topped with avocado and tomatoe. Texas waffles with dollop of syrup and butter, topped with fruit of the season might be the order, or Mexican tortillas, perhaps an egg casserole or quiche. French Toast with fresh sourdough is rolled into the mix some weekends, or a fresh from the oven tray of cinnamon buns. Some entrees become a staple item while others flow with the season. It’s always a surprise!
